We rescued Tali a year ago when she was just 5 weeks old and had been living with people who couldn’t cope when their cat had kittens. She’s definitely a bit of a princess but we love her and her diva ways!
How does your pet show they are anxious?
Tali has always been anxious around new people. She’s visibly alarms and often hides under the sofa.
When did you first spot signs of the anxieties in your pet?
Tali has always been extremely nervous of strangers particularly males.
How do these anxieties make you as a pet owner feel?
We always try and give Tali extra space and comfort if we have we are going to have visitors as is awful to see her so terrified when the door bell rings. We have no idea why she is so scared and it’s heartbreaking that we can’t reassure her.
What would it mean to you to help your pet cope with these issues?
We’d love to be able to help her feel more at ease and relaxed in her home and for her to feel secure.
Why is it important to highlight these issues to other pet owners?
I think many pet owners face these problems and it’s difficult to know what to do or where to turn for help. When tali is anxious it makes us both feel anxious too.
